ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT IN THE HALF OF JUNE – DECEMBER 2021

SPORTELLO ANTIDISCRIMINAZIONI DI TRENTO

The report – in par. 1 – introduces a brief history of the Antidiscrimination Helpdesk of Trento, born on the initiative of an informal group of citizens who, through it, (i) fill the lack in the area of ​​an essential listening and support service to victims of discriminations, (ii) try to achieve a drastic reduction of the phenomenon of under-reporting and (iii) raise awareness on issues related to intersectional discrimination. The report continues – in par. 2 – with a presentation of the Trentino context, which despite being a welcoming land is not exempt from the phenomena of discrimination and marginalization that permeate its socio-cultural and institutional substrate. The third paragraph deals with the relationship between the Helpdesk and Ingrid project and highlights the fundamental contribution of the latter in terms of operativity and visibility. The paragraph also briefly describes the areas of intervention of the Helpdesk, specifically (i) support for victims and witnesses; (ii) collection and management of reports – monitoring; (iii) reaching suburbs and rural areas; (iv) awareness raising and advocacy. It also offers a ‘state of the art’ of what has been carried out to date and it highlights the progress made in the past six months. The fourth paragraph explains how the Helpdesk intends to continue with its work and what are the next medium-term objectives, not free from challenges and difficulties: in particular (i) to give continuity to the cooperation network; (ii) to find a site without architectural barriers; (iii) to design new toolkits and projects; (iv) to increase the number of volunteers; (v) to develop a survival strategy from November 2022 when Ingrid will end. The conclusions follow.

RETE DI SPORTELLI ARCI LIGURIA

The report – in par. 1 – introduces a brief history of the Anti-Discrimination Network of Arci Liguria, born on the historical activities of the association on migrants’ rights. The report continues – in par. 2 – with a presentation of the local contexts of the Ligurian provinces in which the Network operate. The third paragraph deals with the relationship between the Network and the Ingrid project, highlighting the fundamental contribution of the latter in terms of regional coordination, support and exchange. Paragraph 3 offers a summary of the activities carried out in these months of the project, briefly describing the areas of intervention of the desks, specifically (1) mapping and community of practices, (2) collection and management of discrimination reports, (3) support to victims and witnesses, (4) awareness raising and advocacy activities, networks and collaborations. Paragraph 4 focuses on the next steps between challenges and difficulties, describing how the centers intend to continue their work and what are the next medium-term goals: in particular training activities, prevention activities through awareness-raising initiatives, enlargement of the network, implementation of actions with respect to the needs identified in the first part of the project, reflection of strategies for the future sustainability of activities. Conclusions follow.
